Brief Summary -- Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a poor town of twelve thousand people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do. Heather never thought she would compete in panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors. She'd never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought. This book is action-packed and the characters are easy to relate to and like. The idea of a "triple dog dare" contest for money following high school graduation is an interesting, is not reckless, idea. I couldn't put this book down because I couldn't wait to see who would move on in the "game". I have read lots of Lauren Oliver books and this is my favorite!! This book is an awesome page turner!

AuthorMy name is Katie Moisant and I am one of the 2 Librarians at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Hays (my fellow "book whisperer") and I love talking about books we have read -- the good, the bad, and the ugly! I am excited to hear from the OHS students, faculty, and staff about what books they have read and their thoughts on those books.... Archives
