Brief Summary -- Hannah Wagnor is haunted by a ghost. Not just any ghost, though. Hannah is haunted by her recently deceased best friend, Lillian, the queen bee of Hannah’s small social circle. As hard as it is for Hannah to get over Lillian’s death, it’s even harder when Lillian won’t stop following her around! How is she supposed to move on with her life with a cold-as-ice reminder staring her down every time she is alone? (TeenReads)

The book feels at first like a ghost story version of Mean Girls. What if your manipulative best friend died in a way that makes you feel guilty, and then haunted/bullied you as a ghost? But then, the story develops into a murder mystery as well. I enjoyed the creepiness and the character development. The characters are complex in their motives, and the themes of guilt and loss are poignant. I enjoyed it.

I haven't read this one but I've read the Replacements, and I loved it and would love to meet the author. I have been a long-time admirer of her and her work.

I am excited to hear from the OHS students, faculty, and staff about what books they have read and their thoughts on those books.... Archives
